You know there hasn't been a new addition to the calendar since Augest and with as many members as ECC has the topic should be full of pictures to choose fom to vote on. My car has been in the calendar for the last 3 years, as well as many others. It's time for others to come forward and show there stuff. SUBMITT WHLE THERE IS TIME LEFT.

Bill,

There wasn't a vote. There were barely enough entries to fill the calendar.

I agree with you that more folks should submit pictures. There are a lot of fine Elkys in ECC.

I'm going to try and remember to make a post around May about people getting out and taking pictures of their El's for the calendar. I did it one year we had a lot of entries. Hopefully it will help.

Unfortunately, I missed the deadline by a couple days. I was planning on entering but I've been busy restoring a 2 dr. 1966 Caprice. I'll be ready for next year!

I've enjoyed the process of finding interesting places in my area to take pictures of my Elky. I appreciated the voters support last year and enjoy the competition. If we have 100 second gen entries next year, I'll do it again. It's fun, just like getting her ready for a show.

By the way, I hope we do get 100 entries for each gen abd I hope they all come to Carlisle in 2009 for the 50th celebration.

Jim,

I thought you were going to sell your baby. Guilt get to you?

Take care.

Greg,
An unexpected employment event left me with some difficult options and I thought the Elky would have to be sold. Some things are really hard to let go and I decided that the Elky would stay for as long as possible. The employment situation hasn't changed yet but may before the end of the year.
Being "overqualified" is a euphemism for age discrimination. Anyway, there is one very promising prospect still available.

8) Ain't that the truth! I've been trying to get off of disability and recently applied for a dispatch job with a local trucking company. I have over 1.5 million driving miles and a few years as an owner operator. I got a response thankinging me for my interest in the job and that while I had the experience they felt as I would be over qualified for the job it would not be a good fit. ???? :? Over 50 and with health problems make me over qualified I guess!

The one I like, is "we are having an economic, reduction in force. . ." which is the nice way to say, "you old people, are going to go. . . ." 8O

I will have a go for next years calendar for sure. I got my Chrysler in the 300CForums calendar for 2007 (Miss November) and this year I was one of three judges for the 2008 calendar. There were 98 entries. 8O

I think one of the problems of not enough pictures where the problems many of us had trying to post pictures. I did post somewhere that the software being used was very outdated and needed to be updated. Hopefully this will soon be resolved.

By the way, whatever happened with the new server? Is it up?

As I have said; I can and WILL post any pictures that people send me. This really is not an excuse just something that you seem to want to constantly complain about and it is beyond old at this point, give it up already.

As far as the server the last time Robert was trying to transfer files the drive that the system is running on failed and the site went down until he was able to find an old drive somewhere around his town. He then cobbled together an operational drive from the 2 and get the data off the bad drive and get the system back up. Since then he has been worried about trying again and have another failure.

Don't want to pull the thread off subject too much, but does Robert have all the resources he needs? Time is not an issue with me. We know he has a full plate and we can't say thank you enough, not only to him but to the whole team.

However, if money is an issue just let the Forum know.

Take care.

The server is already purchased. Robert has been working out permission issues for transferring the site from the old server to the new server. But when he was transferring files during a test (I think it was a test anyway) the main harddrive in the old server died and killed the site at the same time. He found another drive in a goodwill store or someplace and was able to use the board from it to get the drive working again.

Since then I think he has been a little worried to try again.

Well I have been thinking ECC has been much more stable and reliable for a while no so I am surprised the new server hasn't been commissioned yet. No worries.

On the subject of the calendar, I rang home tonight and was told my 2008 ECC calendar arrived today. From all reports it is A1. I have to wait until I get home on Friday before I get to see it. Thanks to all who contributed and made it happen.

Woah! First of all I've not been constantly complaining. I mentioned it when it happened, I noticed several people have the same problem and I brought it up again. I then checked the forum for the software and was told ours is very outdated and unreliable so I posted that info. That was months ago so to say I constantly complain is a bit much. But I do feel it needs to be fixed once the new server is up.

If Robert is afraid to swap servers I have a suggestion... other forums I've been on have gone through this and decided the best to do was upgrade software, install the new servers, and archive all the previous info. If it's possible to archive all the messages up to date then starting fresh may be the only way to do it. Perhaps with better forum software live vBulletin and if the old messages can be imported at a later date then all the better.
