8) That was me today! The kid sold his Acura and doesn't have a car yet. So, he has been driving the ElCamino all week. Well this morning he woke up late and missed his ride so drove the Elky to Indiana )about 40 miles one way) to work. He calls me this morning about 8:30 am and says the clutch pedal feels funny and it doesn't want to go into gear or shift right. He had told me it was shifting hard into second and into first when he stopped. I figured since it had very few miles since the change over the shifter needed adjusted. Now I'm worried. The car is 40 miles away and might need hauled home. Well grabbed up a bunch of tools the floor jack and a stand and headed to his jobsite! Luckily all it needed was a clutch adjustment. I think the amount of driving he has done everything finally limbered up and he couldn't get enough pedal. It's fine now!

8) Just heard him rumble by on his way home. Must of worked ok! :)

That's always a good feeling eh Johnny!

How far does that "MOBILE MECHANIC" travel? You did good, and I'm sure your son appreciated it too.

Nice going Johnnie. Been there and done that type of thing quite a few times.

Once replaced a Pinto timing belt on the street to get my daughter going.

Last time one of my daughters had a flat, made her change it while I supervised, figured it would be good experience. She thought it was a little mean.LOL

Well, they are grown now, and have kids of their own. I kind of miss doing these things.

8) It was actually about when he said "I don't know how much it will cost you to have it towed home" that encouraged me to go!

Sounding like Paul Harvey now..........................Good Day!

I pay one dollar a month for each vehicle on my insurance for towing, never used it yet, but it's always comforting to know it is there if needed.

Once upon a time many years ago I loaned my Lincoln to one of my daughters and then late that evening I get a phone call and she says there is something wrong with the car. She is at a service garage with a mechanic. I find out that the oil pressure went to zero while she was driving down the freeway so she drove it until she could find a service garage. The oil pump drive had broken. That was a lot of fun since the car was about 60 miles away.

Ive had a problem like this before with my moms partner for real estate, the avalanche kept having no starts. Turned out it needed a battery cable tightened up. But every time I had to go out to fix a buddies car or something along those lines its always been electrical problems but easy to fix!
