for all these friendly words.

So: let me see what ECC can be good for.
(It's the first forum I ever joined).

At the moment I'm just looking for some ... entertainment(?), and to talk to other enthusiasts.

Any help will be appreciated.

Sincerly
Zausel

Welcome to ECC.

I've spent some time in your neck of the woods. Grafenwhoer, Munchen, Gebelstadt (sp), Hoenfelts, K-Town and other points in-between. Was inspector in the Military from 75 through 1978.

Hi Lee !

Your german isn't as bad as you might think :-)
Unfortunately my dutch spelling is close to nothing...
...and my english isn't much better *lol*

Im located in Minden, a small town (population about 80K) between Osnabrück and Hannover, just 30 km north of Bielefeld.

And where are you?

Best wishes from not-so-far-away-as-the-other-ECC-members, and an "prettige avond"

Sincerly yours
Zausel

Hi Pete.
Be sure: it's better in Texas than over here in Germany.
It's been a long time since you were here.
At that time I just was in the elementary school
Worst change over here since then: gas price has climbed to over 1 Euro per liter.
With the actual conversion ratio this means over 4.75$ per gallon.

Humm!
I'm surprised how many ECC members spent a part of their lifetime over here. Nice to hear only positive feedbacks :-D
Yes: some areas here are really nice.
I've been 3 times in the states for vacation (2 round trips through the west, and one through the more upper east). And the only thing I can say is : WOW!
I'd like to have more money to jump more often over the atlantic.

Anyway: Everyone who is over here again is heartily invited to come and see
Assumption: You own an Elky :D

......

Always remember, there is no place like home. No matter where you are from its home to you and that will never change. Texas is a fine state and a pretty good size one. Its home, so I can not disagree about it being "Better" in Texas but that would be for me.

It was something like 92 fahrenheit in Germany in the summer of 76 and that is really close to what the temperature is here every summer, actually a little cooler than here.

For those three years I always had a white Christmas and some of the biggest snow flakes I had ever seen in my life. They were so big I could hear them land on the snow while walking guard duty. I remember the smell of the oil heaters and the soot spotted snow outside our barracks.

Germany is a beautiful country and a lot of history. Hopefully St. Nick will leave a lot in your shoes this Christmas season. May you and your family have a great Christmas and all the rest of our Newbie members where ever you are in the US and abroad.
