Send them, there are plenty of folks with code books who can help. :)

there should be a sticker on the back of the glove compartment door that lists all the codes.

The Service Parts Identification sticker was on the back of the glovebox door only from 1985-87. It listed both RPO codes and "build codes". As ColdBastard previously pointed out, build codes cannot be found on RPO code lists. "Build codes" usage was intended for only the personnel on the production lines.

I'm not certain if this sticker was in the same position on Caballeros. I would think it was, but I've not looked on a GMC to verify that fact.

For years other than 1985-87, do a search on this site for "Build Sheets" and you'll find a few discussions about where these have been found on member's El Caminos (on top of the gas tank, etc.)

Thanks, Chris. When you get a chance please shoot a pic for me and I'll add that info to my files.

My information regarding the Service Parts Identification label came from Cars & Parts Catalog of Chevelle, Malibu & El Camino ID Numbers 1964-87

As I find errors I will change and post them on the ECC site.

Top of head liner, stapled under seats, top of gas tank, inside door panels. Have I left any places out? My 78 sheet was on the head liner.

Nope! I've found most of em somewhere in the seats or door panels.
