Im at a loss, I got a little bit of money to spend, but i just dont know where to start, ive already bought a couple top end parts for my 84, but i want to do more, guess its a no patience type of thing, i want it to be a street rod, but i dont know if i shoudl start with body or strait to drivetrain, plus im learning as i go so its tough, if anyone has any advice i would love to hear.

Well I'll say this much. I spent 15 years on drivetrain issues before a sanding block ever touched my El. I do that with every project car. Get it running right then worry about the pretty stuff later.
Besides, THere's things you'll have to fix that will probably involve removing a body panel or two and it's always easier when you're not worrying about messing up a multi-thousand dollar paint job.
Get to know you Conquista inside and out for a while and you'll be much happier knowing everything is tight and ready to go when it comes out of the paint booth.

my method from bad experience: drivetrain/chassis, then interior, then body/paint.

All of us develop our own methods after 10, 20, 30, 40 years of playing with these thangs, but broadly, we agree. The rest died off from building maybe pretty, but unsafe junk.
My vehicle projects always follow this basic plan:
Phase I Make it Legal, Reliable, Safe
Phase II Make it Fully Functional
Phase III Upgrades like Brakes, Steering, Suspension, Engine
Phase IV Customize, Paint, etc.
Phase V Miscellaneous, Other
A lot of tasks will overlap and you'll have exceptions, but this is just one example of a project track. Most of the ole pro's here can also give you a track and they'll all likely be right and workable. This is called doing a Running Restoration.

Now I'm as confused as a cow on Astroturf! You're profile on the left says you're from Texas.
