I have a quick qustion for any one how knows.
I’m planning on putting a 5.3L LM7 out of a truck in to my 1986 elky and I´v been reading that some car’s could or will have problems with there hood clearance? Will I have that problem to sort out or am I in the clear:)
And if so how best to fix the problem?

Just looked up the years the motor was available. At worst if you have hood clearance problems you could swap out the intake for an LS1 or LS6 intake which would drop it 3~4 inches. It would be a direct swap.

Use a fiberglass cowl induction hood. It will give you 2-4 more inches of clearance in the middle where you need it!!

Andreas, I ran across this while looking for something else and thought of you. Here is where a guy on maliburacing.com describes what he did to put one in an 81 regal (also a g-body). You might pick up some hints.

You should be able to fit the intake under the stock flat hood. I had to remote mount my EVAP purge solenoid but the rest of the intake cleared. The alternator was actually the 2nd tallest thing, its about 3/4" under the bracing. You do have to remove your underhood blanket, or the alternator overheats and kills the regulator.
