OK so i got the info from the john moderator mechanic on the HEI. THat was what i needed . I do have a question though , what is the identifying look or number of the non comp controlled HEI? I think i have made some mistakes on some other projects with these

A non-computer controlled HEI will have a vacuum pod on the side, much like the standard non-HEI distributor.
A computer controlled (large) HEI will have a short wire cluster that terminates at a multiple pin plug socket. (4 wires)
The small HEI (later model) has the electrial connectors on the side of the distributor, and no vacuum pod.
