Hi, I drive a 1972 El camino. Right now I have a crate 350 that puts out 300 HP right out of the box, i am currently having trouble calculating the horsepower with the parts i have on it... if you could help me i would greatly appreciate it... here are my list op add on parts i have

A full set of headers
H pipe
an edelbrock 4 barrel carb with a 1 inch spacer, vacuum secondaries
(currently saving for a holly street avenger 670 cfm with duel fuel feeds :D )
a cam to add a litle more power

i think that is it it is hard to remember without looking

Just guessing but I bet the engine had all those things and maybe more during the test that produced the 300 hp rating---the only sure way to determine it is to sit it on a dyno and fire it up......................Dan

no i meant i was a crate engine that supposedly put out 300 out of the box without anything else extra... the stuff i listed are things i have had done

If that is a GM crate engine, and you look at their specs, you might find that the HP rating is with headers, performance intake and carb.
