I have a problem with my turn signals on my 78. They work. left, right and hazards, which is good. But, my turn signals blink like that "ricer" hyper blink. the hazards blink at the same fast rate. The speed of the signals is about 2 a second or slightly faster.
I searched for bit, but couldn't really find someone with the same problem.

Would that be the relay?
or a ground?

I've dealt with it for the past two years. It doesn't worry me at all. It's just one of those "what the heck" kind of things.

replace the flashers with 552's. I think that is the right number for the "heavy duty" ones. You can get them at any parts house.

The speed of the flasher is a function of the amprege that goes through it. If there is not not enough draw due to a burned out bulb or an open circuit then it will flash very slow or not at all. If there is too much draw caused by a short or the wrong bulb then it will flash faster. This will also happen you have trailer lights hooked up. It also tends to burn up the flasher module.

Make sure you have the proper flasher unit. On my '81 it is the same for the hazards and the turn signals.

Good luck.
