I'm new to this web site. In fact, I'm new to a lot of things even though I'm sixty-seven years old. Notice to "London", I like picture of the black Elky.

I just stopped driving a '77 SS just like it - it's in the driveway as we speak and I'm going to start parting it out.

I'm going to concentrate on my '84 Elky with the 350ci 355hp ZZ4 crate engine.

In any case, I'm in Kinston, NC just east of Goldsboro. CG

I’ve been out of state and just got back to read the postings.

Orfunauto can answer these questions better than I can but I wanted to advise you that he is the president of the Classic Cruiser Auto Club.

I’m recalling this from memory (having only been to one meeting) so forgive me if I’m wrong but I think they meet every fourth Tuesday at 6:00 or 6:30pm for a brief meeting (in a private room) and dinner at Abbott’s Buffet on the west side of Kinston. Plenty of good food and the club is given a dinner discount.

The club is comprised of quite a few members who have interest in various classic cars, not just El Caminos.

Periodically they have a car show on a Saturday at the Right Way Service Mart on HWY 70 in Kinston and participate in various parades and festivals. Fees to join are only $10.00 per year and I have to say that they are some of the nicest people I have met in some time.

If you want to know more, pm Orfunauto for exact details. Charlie G.

Thanks for the kind words Charlieg.

Carolina Classic Cruisers have a web site: carolinaclassiccruisersnc.com . You are right, we have our club meeting the fourth Tuesday of each month at Abbott's. Eat at six, meet at seven....

We also have a monthly cruise-in the second Saturday of the month at the Right Way Cafe on Hwy 70 east bypass in Kinston. We usually have a good sized 50/50 cash drawing, award a nice wall plaqe to the most popular vehicle that everyone who comes to the cruise-in can cast a vote on, and we give away a few good door prizes also.

We are a strong family oriented club, with 100% of proceeds from the events we hold, donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, NC. All Eastern NC car enthusiasts are invited to both our meetings and our cruise-ins.

I believe we have at least three members with El Caminos. With a 59 being the oldest and my 82 the youngest, and of course Charlieg, your fourth gen in the middle :)

Come one - come all, and ENJOY!

I'm just south of Garner, McCullers Crossings area. I have a 85 Elky, does anybody know of any good car shows around here? I'm thinking of getting one together in this area. Anybody intrested in coming? It will be small at first, this would be the first for this area. Not counting the ones in Garner. If you got any questions let me know.

I am new here and currently do not have an El Camino but looking at purchasing a 1980 El Camino locally with a 4.4L 267 V8 and TH350 tranny.
I am in south Charlotte area and own many other old cars though so wouldn't mind attending some local cruise in's if there are any in the area. I also dont mind lending a hand to anyone in the area either whether it's mechanical or paint and body work.

I'm not in NC at the moment (RI) but plan to retire in the general Asheville area in about 3-4 years. Good to see I won't be the only Elky owner when I get there. Though it's a way off, I look forward to meeting and cruising with some of you.

Welcome to the forums jacked85K10! We need a Carolina El Camino Meet sometime this summer! Somewhere central for sure between NC and SC so most people can make it and have close to an equal drive.
