Welp, finally got the Elky passed emissions yesterday evening...only had to change the oil, plugs, wires, coil and rebuild the carb. Changed the secondaries to mechanical and pulled a few vacuum lines off, sure is a whole lot more fun to drive now. I'm sure I realize better milage if I could stay off the go pedal

The bad news is looks like the cam may be toast, but with 150K,I guess that's to be expected eventually. #8 doesn't fire very hot, it does have great pressure...just feels like it's dead.

Time to save for that ZZ4!

Congratulation!! :D

I've got to get my 87 inspected this year too. Here, we get an emissions and a safety inspection. I'm fairly confident it should pass without any problems.

The ZZ4 should put a smile on your face.

It's not too much of a PITA if your friend is the one doing the inspection.

I just got home from Detroit. While I was there some guys told me that Michigan used to have emissions testing but not any more. Is that true?

Only the Detroit are, the rest of the state never has.
