I need to find a replacement speedometer head and gauge for my 80 el camino. What models (and year) could i find a compatable unit in? :cry: :?

Unless I am mistaken, and I am pretty sure I am not, any 78 to 87 GM Elky or Monty and probably some Buicks and Pontiacs.

I bought one from Jeg's it an Autometer Speedometer and Tach that fit the holes perfectly. You will loose the Gear Shift indicator if you do what I did but that is fine for my set up I got a B&M Hammer Shifter for the floor and it has its own indicator and Neutral safety switch / back-up lights.

My dash is out of the truck at present. Its not due to go back in for a spell. The SS Emblem is just above the glove box on the left hand side I can't give you exact location in inches etc.. Maybe someone else here can. My SS emblem is broken and off the dash I had to take it off when I put the dash cap on.

I have an 80 elky also but i have one of those big 'imports' tachometers that was on there when i bought the truck that is hooked around the steering column, also the speedometer is one of those long ones that goes almost all the way across the gauge thing. Is this normal, stock, watever u want to call it?
