OK I know this is stupid of me but I didn't take any notes on where the plastic clips for the long sides were at when I took the trim off for the body/paint work that was done. I'm trying to finish off some of outside trim and want to try and get this part right. It looks like there are 6 per side but there are more places then that on each side that they can go. Anybody have a picture or diagram. Or if someone can mark up a picture I would appreciate it. I can take some pictures before I put the trim for everyone in the future. With the Silver paint and black clips everyone would have no problem from then on.
thanks
rob (feeling stupid right now)

Hi Rob,
I would just divide them up at equal spaces on each of the long sides.
They seem to be in different locations on the ones that I have removed.
If you are using the original old ones ,are there any marks on the underside of the rails where the clips were located before?

I figured I might have to take a guess on location. But it's not like there is a lot of stress so I should be OK. I'm not reusing my originals. I had a cover before and the snaps for it were on the trim. I had it done that way so I would only have to replace trim and not have a bunch of little holes in the body to fix later on. The side are new from GM so theres no marks.
Starting to get cold here now so I'll play with them tomorrow.

Not to fret, I have a Fisher Body manual here someplace. I will find, scan and post the locations here shortly.

Well, go ahead and fret if you want. Believe it or don't, the body manual does not show the bed trim at all, let alone the clips.

No problem, the clips were the easy part. Now the *#($$(*@ molding was something else. Had to 'adjust' the side pieces quite a bit so it would fit right. Even the passenger cab molding put up a fight. But it's done now with the exception of the 2 long screws for the cab moldings. I'll pickup a couple of black screws this week.
Now there's only 1,999 more things to do. :D
