I was poking around ebay, kinda curious about what the difference in appearance was between an SS and a regular elk... when I stumbled onto a car that is IDENTICAL to what I want mine to look like when I am done 8O

It has my rails, the stripes I want on the hood... the same color split that I currently have, and ultimately want to maintain... The only difference is the interior color... I like my Blue, and the bumper has "teeth" on it...

Not bad. Your not gonna keep the dent in the fender are you? :lol: If you have an idea and the green, someone has the ability. That one needed some TLC also.

Haahaahaa, Mmm... yeah that's the first thing I'm gonna do when I eventually get my fender repairs done... put a big dent in it to match :P

Naw, it's just the paint scheme I want :P and it happpens to have the same rails, and a few other bits that make it match what I have/ultimately want Though I think I'm going to go with the 85+ SS decals instead...

Wait a second... are those stripes actually red-ish?? In some pics they're black... in others they're kinda a burgandy....


I dunno, It got me really excited, because I wasn't sure how the hood-stripes would look on a 5th gen.... but now I see how the entire paint scheme will work...

Is it just me, or do those stripes seem a little wide? They don't quite look like what I was thinking... Kinda hoping to get back to the chevelle paint-stripes, but on a 5th gen..

I know what you mean man. I'm sure its the size of the hood and its shape that lends to the Chevelle stripes. Or it could be that those stripes just look cool. 8)
To me the stripes appeared red. I like either the silver of flat black sport stripe. Now imagine that over a duel cowl induction hood. Or maybe a 671 blower sticking up. Hey man, you got my imagination going now.

Yeah, I was kind of bouncing back and forth between a silver and black... But I kinda decided I'd go with black myself. And, I might put a Rhino Lining in the truck bed..

I think, the difference might be, that the outer line is so thin, and close to the stripe on that one... maybe beefing it up a little, and doubling the space between might make it better... make the overall stripe thinner too?? If only I could get a 4th gen front on a 5th gen rear... that would be awesome...

Haha, I dunno... I never cared much for air-scoops and such :P I do like the cowl induction with the louvers infront of the windshield though... that looked pretty sweet...

Talk about a long weekend. I had guard duty this past weekend. Sunday alone I worked on three 5 ton wreckers, two 10K and one 15K generators, and serviced a 5 ton flatbed. That includes pressure washing. That is not an easy task when the front bumper alone is 3 feet of the ground. I could have slapped my helper when he dumped the fuel filter canister. I got a diesel bath. The canister holds about a gallon of fuel.
Some people just shouldn't be allowed around tools.

Anywho, I am debating about doing a herculiner on my truck. A may even use it underneath. I've also been thinking about putting a neon light in that monte carlo nose. Make it look sinester at night. I can hear my father fussing now.
