I have a 78 el camino that i just bought a Fiberglass Air dam for the front and i am having a problem with the sides wher it conects to the fender well. It bows out close to the bumber. But someone told me tht on the poly air dams that there is a tab that conects to the bumper filler. But the fiberglass one does not have this. Any sugjestions?

In my opinion the fiberglass ones suck. They are too rigid and have no "give" to them. You should have bought the urethane one for a few bucks more.

Can you sent it back? Seriously the urethane ones like factory are much, much better. I have hit stuff that would tear fiberglass to peices & it will be much friendlier to install.

Well it came from honest charleys and i will give them a call and see what i can do. Maybe they will take it back and not charge me shipping since i am not satisfied. I will pay the $20 bucks more for a easier and nicer dam. Thanks!

I agree with Ernie the fiberglass one i bought is crap also. It does not have the mounting tabs like the urethane ones.. I will get a urethane one and swap it out. Chalk it up experience..

 Put it on ebay. Someone will buy it.

I first saw the fiberglass ones at Carlisle a couple of years ago. Honest Charlies was there and they had them for sale for $115. They didn't bring any of the urethane ones but they were pushing the fiberglass ones. As soon as I saw it I knew people would have problems with it.

You get what you pay for.

Glad to hear it. Let us know how the urethane one fits.

I have always had good experiences buying from HC. Good service always results in repeat sales.

Could you get a Air Dam on a Conquista?
If you could,How does it fit on the fender moulding?
I have seen a couple of Conquistas where they cut the top
off the dam to fit under the moulding.I believe mine had one on at one time because there were three plastic ears where it attaches to the rad support .It looks like it was broken off.I also have seen them over lap the chrome moulding. The only ones I have seen that looks right is the ones without the trim.

Could you get a Air Dam on a Conquista?
No, it only was available with the SS (Z15) option.

How does it fit on the fender moulding?
This has been discussed before. The search (http://elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=search) engine is your friend.

Thanks Ernie for the info.
I checked the earlier info before I posted and viewed the pictures on the the way it mounted, but wasn't clear on the Conquista mounting. There is a small black air dam that fits under the rad support on most Conquistas,I guess this will have to do.
