I've got a 1970 El with a 350 small-block motor. (The motor is actually a 1978 truck motor, not original.)
When my alternator went bad, I asked my mechanic to install this kit, following some of the advice and links from this site. I didn't think things through as far as the A/C lines.
GM Performance Parts Deluxe Serpentine Drive Kit 12497698
Small-block kit with water pump and A/C compressor

Now the A/C compressor is on the left side, and I need upper and lower A/C hoses to run to the other side of the engine compartment. My mechanic guessed a fabrication cost of $300 each (x 2 = $600!).
Is that a reasonable cost? Does someone make pre-fabbed hoses for this scenario? I've heard good things about www.classicautoair.com, but I haven't contacted them yet. Thanks for any advice you can offer!
