Two problems...1st,I have every bolt & screw I can find out of an 87's dash, but somehow I'm being held up on the drivers side.Everything else, but the drivers side pulls away from under the windshield. It seems that that on the drivers side, above the steering wheel, where the metal piece goes across, the dash piece is sandwiched between other metal there,& it wont budge.. Heres a pic of that metal piece on another dash-> http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y3/nwmaximus/ELKYDashremoval.jpg --2nd-,Also,I've got everything I can off the
front fenders, except a couple fasteners that are rusted so bad they'll have to be drilled or ground out(and probly some I cant see). But,how do you seperate the front piece from both fenders at the front seam where they attach to each other? Thanks

I take it you have the two 15 MM nuts that hold the steering column up completely removed. If so take a pry tool of some kind (notice I didn't say a big screwdriver) and separate the pieces a little and pull straight toward the rear and the dash will slide out If everything else is loose. Did you get the three 10mm bolts that go in from the bottom? One on each side and one just to the right of the ash tray.
The header is held by the obvious bolts across the top and there are two in the center on each side of the radiator behind the grill. There are a couple of 10mms on the sides behind the headlight bezels the best I remember. There are two guide pins you can see if you look on the inside of the fenders just above the inner fenders. The two bolts are not visible from the back side. HTH

"There are two guide pins you can see if you look on the inside of the fenders just above the inner fenders. The two bolts are not visible from the back side. HTH" Not sure about those. You mean there are bolts inside near the side markers? --As far as the dash,I'm thinking I may be ready for a pry bar.I think I got all the bolts.I just need to pull wires off tha back as I go,eh? :?

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you with the guide pin info. I mentioned them so that you wouldn't try to lift straight up on the header. It has to go forward a couple of inches to clear the pins.
Go easy and get the harness loose. It is easy to break the defroster ducts as the wiring gets caught as you pull the dash out.

Headers off.Dash is removed. Now I've got some fasteners somewhere holding the fenders and the rad core support still. The two larger bolts up front that go vertically down thru to the bumper shock absorbers are 2 of them.I wrench on the top and they spin, but how to get a backup wrench on the bottom when the other end is in a deep hole.I think I'll just sawzall thru the rubber spacer, cut them in two & be done with it!

Put the wrench on top and come up from the bottom with a socket, extension and preferably a 1/2 inch impact.

I've got a partial list of removed stuff,I guess I should post in another thread.Larger items, like the hood, fenders and complete doors. -I would prefer to sell local, due toi the hassle of finding & using decent packaging, then hauling it myself to the shippers.Would be expensive too,I assume?
