Our good friend Brad Cooper -- aka "Tuggy" -- a member of the National El Camino Owners Association from Newtown, PA, has suggested that our club hold a regional get-together on Saturday, July 5, 2008 in Bristol, PA. The North East Muscle Car Club of Philadelphia sponsors a regular monthly Cruise Night next to the AutoZone Store at 2603 Durham Road, which is located only minutes away from several major highways just north of Philadelphia.

Admission is free and the event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., which makes it convenient for those who live within a one-hour drive in Eastern PA or South Jersey to attend.

“Tuggy” has been wanting to get local NECOA members to have an informal get-together and meet each other for some time now, and this seems like a good time and place to start that ball rolling. You are cordially invited to come with your El Camino, regardless of condition, to make some new friends and share ideas and advice.

Tuggy will be posting more information about this get-together on our website, www.elcaminocentral.com over the next two weeks. We urge you to reserve this date, Saturday July 5, and to let Tuggy know via email if you are planning to attend so that he can reserve a large enough space for El Camino owners only. You can reach him via email at Tuggy24jg@verizon.net for more information.

Please make a special effort to join Tuggy and other members from Region 3 on July 5, in Bristol, PA. I’m sure you will have a great time if you attend.

Best regards, John Harris
National Director, NECOA

Hey guys we both made a mistake and the meeting is really on the 5th not the 7th. Sorry for this and I really hope I can get at least one other person to show up

I'm really sorry about using the wrong date for this event. Must have been "a Senior Moment" on my part.

The correct date is Saturday July 5, 2008.

We have gotten quite a few responses so far from members who are planning to attend. Hopefully, more will reply to Tuggy this weekend so he can have a better idea of how many Elky's will be there.

So do you have a count of how many are coming. I think I've convinced my daughter to bring her Camino down also.

Well I would say about 6-8 as of right now. Not sure how many there will be exactly since some people said to be that they may or may not show up. So it could be 8 or more if they show up. Right now I am thinking there are 6 people coming.

Sooo did everyone have as much fun as I did. I'm sorry I missed meeting everyone, but circumstances prevented me from making it there. The upper radiator hose didn't like being attached anymore and decided to come off about ten miles from home. After spending about 2 hours in the rain, sometimes a downpour usually when I was trying to fix the car, my wife and I decided to come back home. Wouldn't you know, it stopped raining and the sky was clearing when I closed the garage door around 9 o'clock. I hope everyone else had better luck than I did. Would like to try it again.
