I painted my '84 yesterday - I have used Hot Hues for my last three paint jobs and the colors are great - DuPont's version of House of Kolors. This year my contact sold me an improved 'Hypercure' clear which dries very quickly and is very forgiving as well. The paints and supplies are not cheap, but they really are user-freindly if you follow the directions.
My color is 'Sinful Cinnamon'

Thanks for the kind words. The color really pops in the sun - sort of a reddish/orange candy effect with a subtle metallic.

I'm off to the NJ shore for a week (Lavallette), so I'll dive back into the Elky reassembly after a nice break.

Neil - I thought it was a big deal when I restored my '79 Z28 and took the subframe off - congrats on a full frame body off resto - that's a HUGE undertaking...not to mention the big Buick - great work!

Snapped a picture of the Elky outside - all sanded and polished. I put it right to work with a trip to Home Depot. I've since added the full trim around the bed. I painted the bed sides and area up around the back window tunnel with black 'bedliner' spray from Duplicolor, and used SEM Black trim paint on the window molding. I had a Hot Wheels redline 'Seasider' back in '69 and I always liked the black bed effect. It's amazing what kind of crap you remember!!
