I've always had side post terminals until now and I just converted to top post. The battery I have has top and side posts. My question is: If you're using the top posts for battery hook up, could you use the side posts for amp hook up? Or do you have to go with the top post since you're using it for the battery? Wasn't quite sure on this.

Go for it. The posts would have to connect inside the battery to the same place.
