Greetings to you all. I am a new member here, but I am an old time qualifier to join. Started off with a 69 Elky, (wrecked by son at college) Then loved my 73 SS Elky until the electric seat motor caught fire and burned on the shoulder of an interstate. Now, in my second childhood, I found this 77 Sprint.

I'm currently reading up on upgrading my idiot light pod for an instrumented SS version I have on the way. I must admit...

I'm sure as I read up on more of all of your threads, I'll get a handle on it. I guess I'll need to find a "Tach filter" from somewhere. Wish me luck! It's great to be in touch with such an intelligent, good looking group of friends.. Thanks for being here guys.... umm.... and girls.

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Loren!

We're a motley group of Elky lovers here. Search the archives and you'll find lots of information. Our opinions are free and like all free things, some are more valuable than others.

Welcome to the group! Be sure to swing by if you are driving in the neighborhood here in chilly New England!

It's great to see another Sprint owner joining up. I've got a '76 Sprint SP with a buick 455. Currently working on putting a new timing chain in it. Got any pics of your Sprint?

I did the same conversion to my cluster. Its not to bad of a job if all the guages work. But it does take some studying of the back of the tach cluster and a test light. The only guage in the cluster that worked in the cluster that I found was The tach so I manufactured some pods and changed the guages to autometer. That was a project.

Well I'll be darned. I thought that I was the only one with an oddball engine. The '68 that I just picked up had a 327, but for some reason the previous owner installed an Olds 455 in it.

Mine is a '70 vintage Olds, so I may want to get with you in the future for tips and advice. I will stick with the Olds for now, because she does fly, but may someday go back with a Chevy small block.

And what are your plans for engines?
