HELLO!
I have been looking for a place just like this. I am a 2nd Gen owner of a 79 El Camino which I received from my father after his passing. He was a car genius, I am not. We started resto on this car and got as far as the 383 stroker when he passed. I am needing some help with suspension ideas. The car seems to always be leaning to the left side as you face it from the back. I have replaced the air shocks and the front shocks and it still leans. Any suggestions. ALSO, does anyone know any good body shops in the Phoenix area?
Thanks in advance for your help. I don't have pictures yet, but I will be sure to post soon!
Collin :D

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Collin!
Sounds like you may have some bad body mounts.

Replace the springs, one side is sags more as they wear. Welcome to a great site.

How can I tell if it's the body mounts?
Thanks for the welcome!!

Many of the body mounts are not visible without lifting the body up but you have to get underneath your Elky and look around. Look at how the body sits on the frame rails. Look at the how close the floor pan is to the transmission crossmember. Compare both sides of the frame.

I have seen a lot of cars and trucks that sag or lean on the driver side. I assume that its because that side always has extra weight on it from day one. The truck always has a driver and over time it takes a toll on the springs on that side.
It can also be the body mounts. Where is the truck originally from AZ.? If it is, then its possibly not rusted mounts just weak springs, afterall it is well over twenty years old and in some need of new or newer parts. 383 is a good engine plenty of raw torque and the possibility of lots of wheel twisting horse power. You should be able to pull stumps out of the ground with that baby. :D
Welcome aboard we've all been waiting for you to show up, no kidding! 8-)
