Alright so I'm just going to introduce myself. I'm new to this forum, but no where close to being new to automobiles, so don't expect me to be one of these no0bs whom do nothing but ask idiotic questions.
I currently have a 1983 Caballero with 90k original miles, hardly any rust, and a spotless interior. I use this for my daily driver and I am getting ready to get some paint and rims for it then call it a day (perhaps, as I do have an idea for it, but that will come later in the post)...I also have a 1990 Honda CRX that I am fully restoring to it's factory glory (as glorifying as a Honda can be); while also putting a B18A1 Integra engine in it that I have built from the ground up and upgrading the suspension (I know it's a HONDA, but it makes for a fun twisties car)...And my newest addition is a 1964 F-100 with minimal rust, and 60k original that I am going to drop an HO 347 in along with suspension, brakes, paint, and rims.
I do have a few questions (I promise they won't be ignorant)...The first one is about the smog components (I am almost positive this is what they are if I am wrong please correct me) on the 305 in my Caballero. My uncle at one time owned a Grand Prick that had the same type of setup and his mechanic removed these components, I have searched the internet via Google looking for a walk-through or perhaps just a schematic that would give me a good idea of what to remove and how to do so inorder for the engine to still operate at it's prime. However, I didn't find one; so I am wondering if anyone here has done this or perhaps knows where I can find some information on this as I am not one to go start tearing stuff off of my car before researching first...
My second question is actually a relatively easy one and it sort of makes me mad that I have not been able to discover this on my own. However, I have searched and searched to no avail; I am looking for a wiring schematic for the radio in the Caballero. I have a Pioneer cd player that I am trying to install but upon trying multiple wiring combinations it still will not turn on/play sound. I have tried replacing fuses and checking/trying different wires, although this has not yielded any results.
My third question actually just comes from a crazy idea that I had. I used to own a 1996 Blazer and absolutely love the dash and interior in it, upon taking measurements I found that this setup would fit almost perfectly into my Caballero, and I also know where to find one (set up including seats, dash, steering wheel, center console, and carpet) relatively cheap. I was just wondering if anyone has seen this done before and if so if they could direct me to a site with some pictures as I would like to see what it would look like if I decided to go through with this (again I have searched Google and to no avail).
I do apologize for the length, however I am a veteran of other automotive forums and absolutely hate it when a no0b comes in and does not introduce themselves, does not give the other members insight as to the amount of their knowledge, and just start asking questions/trying to run the place. Any input is greatly appreciated. And I am glad to be part of this community.
