hi everyone im looking for some advice on a good engine/transmission setup for my 85 elky. right now i have a 305/th-350 setup and i plan on keeping the same transmission but i want to swap the engine out. my options are a 327 or a 350 which engine would be best with the th-350 tranny??? any advice is welcome

Either would be great. It will be easier getting a 350 though.

matters what u want the car to do the 327 has a shorter stroke though.

parts for a 327 are harder to find as where parts for a 350 are easier to find. not to mention 350's are a dime a dozen.

My opinion...

450 Hp. 383 with a T56 (Viper Version better final drive ratio) standard and a Corporate 10 or 12 bolt 5.88:1 rear. I'd say a 502 Ram Ject but space is always an issue with elkys and the 5th gens are a little more limiting then some models.

If you don't like standards then go with a 383 and a 700R4 or a 200R4 and a 4:10:1, same rear ends.

Just my personal preferences. :D
