Region 4 seems pretty dead, but I wanted to see who would answer this call. It would be nice to be able to get a group together. I'm about halfway between Hagerstown and Frederick, MD. Anyone close?

Jesse,

Well it's only half dead. There is some spark missing somewhere.

Curious about the "358" part of your handle. We run in the "305" class of Sprint Cars....http://pa305sprints.com/TeamHomePage.asp?Teamid=47

We have raced at Saluda, Waynesboro, and Winchester in the past few years.

Anyway....good luck with your EL

Hey Zach,

You going to bring it to Carlisle next June for the 50th?

Always did like those Chevrolet Beauty Rings.

Hot damn, I didn't bother checking back after a week. This is a nice surprise.

My baby is at a friend's garage right now while I finish up the last bits of the engine swap.

I bought her in '04 and the poor thing sat until I used the MVA's historic registration rule change to put her on the road in January '07. I went after the loose tilt column first, which led to me stripping out the pins on the sides trying to remove it.

I figured that the action of the column shift is what loosens the bolts, so I ended up putting in a column from a Monte that had floor shift, and plunked in a B&M shifter instead.

She should be a terror after the swap is complete, but she looks really rough on the outside.

What's the deal with you guys' Elkys?

On the plains of hesitation, bleach the bones of countless millions who on the threshold of victory sat down to wait and waiting they died.

Apparently it was after the Marines left that all this bungling took place.

Actually, the quote has been attributed to winston Churchill, but if you investigate Winston Churchill's quotes you'll have trouble finding it.

It's an obvious favorite of mine regardless of whom may have authored it.

Ole Winny wasn't above stealing phrases from other people and using them as his own ! I'm so glad to see that people are responding to the Region 4 Elky owners call. . . . I for one would like to get something happening in these areas and Pennsylvania folk are welcome too. . . .I live in Northern Baltimore County off Rt# 83 in a Town called Sparks. . . {North of Hunt Valley} Barry-Maryland

After seeing the replies from area 4 Elky owners, Frederick would seem like a good place to have a region 4 show and tell gathering. . . . Barry-Maryland

I am in the process of upgrading the ignition, and installing floor shifter,as well as swapping out the convertor in my elk.I think most of the tuning issues have been sorted out.Still has a rough time ideling every once and awhile.Next up will be to freshen up the body and paint.Just want to make sure it runs right before working on appearence.I will post some pics if I can get my wife's digital camera working.
