I installed Belltech lowering spindles back in April of last year. Not long after that, I started experiencing a great deal of rubbing from my front tires, which were on stock wheels. I had a set of hard plastic twist-in spring spacers in the rear springs which I took out and put in the front springs to lift them a bit. The ride heit was better and the rubbing stopped. Soon thereafter, I started hearing an ungodly squealing from my front suspension whenever it would move. The sound is a slow, nails-on-a-chalkboard sound and it happens when ever weight is let off of the car, like when a person gets out of the car or shifts their weight inside of it. I had my ball-joints redone and my springs replaced a few months ago when I got done swapping out my 305 for a 350. I replaced the original springs with replacements for the stock 305 El Camino SS. I was told it didn't make a difference with the 350. Once the car came back from the shop, the squealing was gone for a while, but is now back.
The shop told me I had a bad shock absorber and they replaced it as it was under warranty. Could it be that the squealing is coming from the shock again? If so, why do the shocks keep going out?
Thanks for any help, I'm really frustrated!
