Has anyone ever converted the rear drum brakes to disk brakes? Is it worth it? or is it a waste and too much trouble?

I'm about 3 or 4 months away from doing this. Looking real close at the Baer system. Thought about Wilwood but there conversion kit is for a 12 bolt. :( I think it will be worth it as far as an upgrade. I'm also going to be putting 17" wheels on the Elky so the discs that go on are going to be as large as I can get for it.
