To be honest ~~~ nothing you would ever notice. You would proubly get more adding air to your tires, say 60 lbs psi, (NOT RECOMMENDED) lol

Underdrive pullies maybe. As for the fan, yes. I had a HD clutch fan on my 84 Monte SS when I got it. Swapped it out for a F-body dual electric fan set up and could feel a difference. Can't tell you exactly how many HP I freed up. But it was enough to feel around town and passing on the highway.

That's GREAT Tom, You must have gotten lucky on that one. When I wanted to know for sure on that (and I'll just call it a myth), I tried it on a Dyno, two years ago, before and after. by just removing the fan, and the results showed me maybe 1/100th of a HP deference. And I sure as heck couldn't feel it in the seat of my pants. Wonder what I did wrong?

Not sure. Maybe my butt dyno was acting up. I had the heavy duty clutch fan and not the regular one. Maybe that made a difference? All I know is it worked out well for me.

You'll gain bling factor points! Going to electric fans doesnt add hp, it just relieves stress off the engine, as so does the underdrive pulleys(dont recomend it). The fans also will allow better cooling for the BEST performance out of your engine.

:stern: why don't you recommend it snags? fill me in buds

underdrive pulleys give you a couple hp increase at the rear wheels but at the expense of underdriving the water pump on a marginal cooling system and not spinning the alternator fast enough to fully charge the battery for most folks---unless its a drag car they are just not worth the hassle they cause...............Dan

Electric fans DO INCREASE usable horsepower, its not much, but you eliminate the air load from the stock fan that is increasing with RPM's,
I know what your going to say next, (it's a clutch fan), but when the car gets hot the clutch tightens up, it only spins freely when the engine is cold.

Oh yeah, what else (the electric fans increase the electrical load on the alternator) there by consuming more horsepower, but then again so does those large stereo systems everyone installs

Unless your going to go make some serious MODS and Horsepower "Save your money" Go to SCHOOL, learn something

Well if they work that poorly. Why do all the auto makers use electric fans? Seems to me there is some merit to not having a constant drag on the motor from the mechanical fan running all the time. Even when its not needed, like at any speed over 35 MPH. I think you'll see an increase in seat of the pants horse power and a small MPG increase just from the decreased drag on the motor.

:nanawoot: i think it will make a good/small diffrence, it will only run when need'ed thx guys

Because of the Bottom Line, It will cost you more to repair, More profits before and after the sale

Also most of what they put of is so under powered, they need every little bit of free (NON PARASITIC) horsepower they can get

Allows them to shove that big ol motor in a small car. Plus electric fans are more efficient and you can time them. ANother reason why is noise complaints of the clutch style fans on majority of cars. Too loud for more consumers.

For the pulleys old coot snagged the reason being. It just puts to much strain on your charging systems and spins the water pump too faster which could lead to leaks and failures down the road. Want easy hp? GET A 383! oh and then dont forget to beef up the rest of your drive train to handle it.
