: new wheels on my 1970 elky ;)
355el-camino 10-05-2008, 11:22 AM Hi Guys,
About 6 weeks ago i found some very nice 18" foose wheels for sale @ ebay.com in Texas and i thought they will look nice on my 70 el camino. The seller shipped the wheels to my home in Holland and today i received the wheels at home. I like the 18"foose wheels on my 70 camino.... Here some pictures.

65 ELKY 10-05-2008, 12:41 PM Those wheels look pretty cool on your camino :D
vandal 10-05-2008, 01:13 PM niiice !!
rtabish 10-05-2008, 01:32 PM and i bet you have a model or a die cast that looks just like that, too....dont you? :-P
i have never been a fan of the trend for bigger than stock wheels. i think 15"s look just fine. but your car is pretty outstanding looking on its own, and 18s are not that much "too" big, so the whole package looks pretty proportional and tasteful. i give it thumbs up.
theelcaminofactory 10-05-2008, 04:03 PM First off let me say that you have a very nice looking Elky...so don't be offended when I say that I'm not a big fan of wagon wheels and after all it is your Elky not mine...but you have what I consider to be the best year Elky made. There's 3 cars that, and this may seem nutty and I would almost give my left one to own one and they are a 1969 SS 427 Camaro, a 1970 SS 454 LS6 Chevelle and a 1970 SS 454 El Camino...I realize yours is not the 454 model...but if I owned your Elky, I'd have it looking as close to original as possible and that would include the factory SS mag wheels, and not wagon wheels...but that's just me.
Steve81OR 10-05-2008, 08:10 PM Very nice Andre, I like the new wheels.
355el-camino 10-06-2008, 01:34 AM and i bet you have a model or a die cast that looks just like that, too....dont you? :-P

Your absolutely right...and I gotta say those wheels do look better on there then the Cragar SS wheels did. (did I just admit to liking wagon wheels...oh boy) :eh:
gr8ridejester 10-06-2008, 07:54 AM I've always liked the Foose Nitrous Legend -- looks badazz on your ride. It's your car, make it your own! 8)
Low75 10-06-2008, 12:39 PM The new wheels look great on there, very clean! Nice choice.
ElkyHolik87 10-06-2008, 02:28 PM VERY nice!!!! im jelous  . i would like 20's in the rear and 18's in the front but looks great just the way it is. how much did you cop thous for?
ElkyHolik87 10-06-2008, 02:32 PM oh ya forgot is that a 5' cawl hood? i wanted to go with a 4'
rushgator 10-06-2008, 04:25 PM I think the wheels look great, & so does your Elky! 18" wheels look great on an Elky, but I think that is the limit...anything bigger than that looks too "wagon wheel". The 18's look perfect though. I'll probably go with 18's on my '72 Chevelle project too.
Snaggle To0th 10-06-2008, 11:16 PM Looks nice! NOW LOWER IT SOME MORE! Yucky wheel gap!

hemi57 10-07-2008, 10:20 PM That is a very nice package you have there Andre.
Me, like a few other posters in this thread, stayed with the 15" wheels to keep in the '70s theme, but I do appreciate the style of the big diameter "jobs".
Tuggy24g 10-08-2008, 09:30 AM Those chip foose rims look tight. I have Chip Foose Nitrous on my 1986 El Camino. They really bring a little something extra to the car then just the stock rims. You have one beautiful Elky there!

theelcaminofactory 10-08-2008, 10:59 AM On air?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/92283/elkyonair.jpgSome of us in Region 10 have actually seen this 1970 SS El Camino over the Chicago lakefront. If the guy who owns this Elky is a member here...would you please contact me, I'm interested in buying it.
355el-camino 10-08-2008, 12:58 PM hahaha i am sorry this special flying elky is NOT for sale.
haha if my elky could fly, i fly to the usa to get my parts haha that saves me a lot of mony :D no more shipping costs to holland
Low75 10-08-2008, 04:37 PM  And if the elky had a flux capacitor you could even travel back in time and really save some money on parts.
Your english is actually pretty good by the way. I don't think anybody has any trouble understanding you at least.
rtabish 10-08-2008, 08:27 PM you guys seem to be the most "gearheaded" of europeans. i know on the other car sites, bike sites, and 4X4 sites i frequent, there are more people from the neatherlands than the rest of europe [except maybe england]. pretty good considering the price of gas over there
355el-camino 10-09-2008, 10:06 AM  And if the elky had a flux capacitor you could even travel back in time and really save some money on parts.

haha than i buy al the el caminos new from the factory hahaha.
not only gas is expesive here (parts olso :-( )a lot of things are ferry expensive, if i had the mony to move to america il olready was :)
but yes the prise of gas is going up and up one litre kost 1;50 euro.
one gallon is +- 4 litre 4 x 1;50 6 euro.
6 euro is 8.20 usd.
how much you guys pay for a gallon??
rtabish 10-09-2008, 12:56 PM gas here has dropped a lot in the last few weeks. from a high almost $4 a gallon we here in Montana are currently about $3.20, and it is getting less [hopefully  ].
eastern Montana is currently undergoing an oil energy boom of sorts, along with Wyoming and Alberta, Canada. Billings, the largest city in our state, is a refinery center for the region, and Conoco ships gas and other oil products all over the country from here. along with coal fired generator plants, wind turbine farms, and hydroelectric dams all over the place. but we pay some of the highest energy prices in the country! it is nice when you have had a series of elected leaders who have sold out your state to greedy big business interests [that was sarcasm :P ]
355el-camino 10-09-2008, 01:44 PM ok zo that is much cheaper than here.
do you have only gas and diesel or do you olso have lpg for the cars?
my el camino runs on l.p.g (liquid propane gas) and it runs ferry good.
the price is much cheaper than gas.
rtabish 10-09-2008, 01:54 PM LPG and propane is more expensive than gasoline here. i dont know how much more, but yes, we can use it in our cars. it is my understanding that the actual price of gas over there is high because you have more taxes on it than we do. you have a social health care system, and a few more social services than we get here, and taxes have to pay for all of it. if not for the taxes, you would be paying about the same price we are.
355el-camino 10-10-2008, 10:22 AM yes youre right we pay a lot of tax over every thing :( only the lpg is cheap because there is no oil for necessary and it is better for the environment.
