This news just in... many of you are familiar with the fact that GM Carlisle has always been peer judging. For those who don't know what that is it's where we all vote for the cars we like the best in each class. Peer judging is not really the very best indicator of a vehicle's condition since many people vote on what color they like.

For the 2009 GM Nationals all judging will be performed by qualified and trained judges. Each vehicle will be judged equally and fairly. This system is like what the Carlisle people do for the Truck Nationals in August.

We will receive a schedule with a time frame as to when to expect the judges, it is best to be with your Elky when the judges come around.

As soon as I get it I'll post the judging criteria.

Will there be non-judged categories? I have never cared for judged shows. There are just too many opinions on judging points. If there aren't non-judged categories, there will be one less El Camino there.... :(

All you have to do is say you don't want your Elky judged.

I think the judging will be neat. I've always wanted my Elky to be judged rather than peer voting. It should be interesting.
