Sounds like the positive wire for the brake lights has a break somewhere between the switch and the socket, trace the wire from the bulb socket back to where in enters the interior of your car (through the smugglers box on the drivers side of vehicle underneath the car) and check for a break in the wire. If you can't find the problem, check the wire from the switch to where it exits the interior (smugglers box). There's a plug at the point where it goes through the smugglers box and that is where I would concentrate on first, it may be loose or corroded.

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Jimbo!

Bad turn signal switch.

BTW, there's a guy on ebay named "elcaminocentral" who sells brand new ones. :P

Here's some Wiring Diagrams (http://elcaminocentral.com/article-114-thread-1-1.html) to help you trace the circuit!

Make sure you have a good ground at the back by the bumper also.

Double check the output side of the brake light switch, also. That's the first switch you need to be sure is working, then look for damaged harness.
If that checks out go for the turn switch .

And if all that is not enough to check. You could just have a bad light socket. They do go south with no warning.
