hey guys,
i started removing the headliner in my 73 today, and i ran into a little trouble. there is this plastic piece that i need to remove properly (i dont want to just rip it out) because it is in great shape and i dont want to search for another one. it had two clips on the outsides that were easily removed but there seems to be two more clips or something holding in two spots in the middle which are impossible to take out. have any of you guys removed this piece before? maybe i will just have to pull it off and when it comes time to putting it back in only have it hold with two clips and glue instead of four clips lol.
there are pics of the interior piece i am talking about in my album (last two pics)
thanks guys

Don't rip it or pull it out like you're thinking on doing. If it's the front or rear trim you may destroy the piece. The clip has a center section that you should be able to get a thin screwdriver in and push on the release and pop it out with the trim.

Them clips are hard to find sometimes, so it would be good to save as many as possible. They hold up pretty good, even the original ones.

I believe this is what you're talking about.............

You have to be careful not to destroy the hole the clip seats in. Hope this helps.
