Well Of corse when I installed my headers I wasnt carefull enough and I burnt a plug wire and it was arking to the header. I think this may be related to my problem. The plug wires have been replaced and are tied out of the way now.
I also recently replaced a starter.
The problem is that I seem to be getting no power from the alternator. It has been tested (including the voltage regulator) at 2 different shops and passes. If I charge the battery the car will run on it until it dies out.
All of my connections to the alternator and battery appear good, and the belt is tight.
what is going on?

Check the fuseable link in the large Alt. wire, may be Blown. But heck,
what do I know. Should be down by the Starter

I have the same issue now and found that my primary feed wire from the distribution block went bad. I started tugging on the harness and heard my alternator kick on. I've got some many splices in that harness that I finally just went and ordered a new one.

You're getting good advice. Check link first. Note: If it is blown, replace it with the proper gauge link and not just wire like some of my redneck buddies have done.
All of these factory wiring systems are failure prone. Ours were only just adequate even when new. As a matter of course, confirm your grounds as you go - maybe even improve them. Generally, grounds are the most common failure in old systems.
Take care.

I got it fixed. Well when I was looking for that fuseable link down by the starter I noticed that one of the wires wasn't hooked up. When my dad put it in he must have missed that.
thanks for your help.

8O I guess a disconnected wire is like a blown fuseable link, couldn't be, what do I know. :(
