I'm removing my front bumper to clean it from rust.
At the same time I'm thinking of doing something about
the attachment to the shock absorbers.
Only explaination I can see as to why my attachment looks like below
is that previous owners were very drunk machining this.
I have no idea how this "should" look like, please enlighten me.

Yikes 8O What is that, looks like an extra piece of metal under the shock tube to bumper?

I just took mine off and it didn't have that metal looking piece, it was just bumper to shock tube. I'll post pics or send you some, but it'll be a while,
I gotta go traveling for Sam this week and next :cool:

The Bumper shock bolts directly to the Bumper bar, sometimes with shims. It looks like some one added that piece of scrap metal to bolt driving/fog lights to or to support a busted grill mount?...just toss it
