Let me start off by saying when I open my door there is no buzzer and when I have my headlights on with the car off there is no buzzer. I am having this annoying problem that while driving along if I adjust the tilt on my steering wheel or accidentally touch my hazards switch or sometimes not do anything all, a buzzing sound will start coming out of the steering column area and the only way to get it to stop is to wiggle the steering wheel or play with the hazard button. Anybody know how to solve this?

Sounds to me like you have an intermittent ground or a short that is causing the buzzer to go off as you described. I would check the steering column wiring where visible and the wiring to the fuse block. You might have to replace the turn signal switch and wiring in the column, quite possible that over the years the tilt wheel mechanism has rubbed on some wires.

I think nate68elky hit it on the head. 70's GM tiilt column harnesses
are famous for shorting out. Luckily you shouldn't have a whole lot of trouble getting it out once you get the steering wheel off.

Disconnecting the harness down at the bottom of the column and sliding out the plastic wire protector should let you pull the whole wire assembly up and out from the column. Of course you'll have to remove the hazard switch, turn signal stalk and of course the famous lock plate.

I had a broken turn signal return spring. That caused an occasional horn short circuit. It would drain the battery if you left the steering wheel in a certain position. GL :nanawrech:
