Okay, so I'm parting out an '87 Chevy conversion van that my father-in-law gave me. I'm keeping the engine/tranny/driveshaft, and the chassis, brakes, steering, suspension, wheels, etc is going to Dad. I plan on cutting up the body and hauling it to the recycler, but just curious if anyone thinks there might be a market for anything that's left over (glass, trim, interior, doors, hood, fenders), and where would I post this stuff. I did a quick google on chevy vans, but didn't come up with much...

not exactly a rare animal, i would say pull the stuff that you might need or works for several applications, like the blower motor, heater core, some of the wiring harness, maybe the rear end and a few other components. maybe anything that is still in good shape...if you have the patience to mess with selling it off. the van itself will be a better sacrifice to the japanese and chinese steel recycling folks...maybe it will save an old classic from getting crushed?

Hmmm... My first thought was craigslist, but then I gotta worry about people coming out to my house just see what else I might have, and that sorta thing, and if I put it on ebay or anything else I gotta worry about shipping.

Guess I'm just kinda whining here... but maybe what I'll do is list smaller trim parts on ebay that I think might be of interest. The rest I'll just scrap... Anything that I can use for the Camino or Dad's '64 Chevy will be kept. I just wanna get it done quick. Because the sooner I get the chassis ready for Dad to haul off, the sooner he'll bring my new '71 over...

Just keep it in your back yard! They make a great storage shed. :)

or a better idea...if you are up for another project, cut off the cab section, weld on a hitch, and you have a cheap storage trailer, complete with lights and brakes. if it is a window van, you could convert it into a camp trailer and resell it. i have seen them around here and always thought they were a great idea.

This was my first thought (Dad actually suggest the storage shed, but I'd rather not), but I've already told Dad he can have the rolling chassis for the brakes/suspension, in trade I got a new set of BFG T/A's for my Buick, and I'm getting the turbines and BFG's back off my old '77...
