I am a proud owner of a 79 elcamino,which my father gave me for my birthday. i have a quick question! what gen. am i and what does 1st gen,and 2nd gen. mean, could someone explain to me. this happens to be my very first elcamino to own. i am excited to fix it even more than it is right now. please help me thanks 79caminoman..

1st - 1959-1960

2nd - 1964-1967

3rd - 1968-1972 (I have a '68 myself)

4th - 1973-1977

5th - 1978-1988

6th - ????? Maybe someday
