Its a Friday night Cruise-IN (no cost open to all) and a Saturday Show. For a true "show" I would much rather cruise over in the "show truck" than our daily driver EC...

Niel the show has the hole hotel reserved at $64.99 a night I reserved mine Sat last and had no problems. If in doubt reserve it you can cancel up to 24 hours prior. This is the show second year there and they had 200 the first year so that says something. Lenny and I are going up Friday mid day for the Friday night crusie and party, show is Saturday and an another cruise and parking lot party of some sort Saturday after the day show. So the "BS" should be in full swing for evening events.
Even the 50/50 pot is going to giving out a 60/40 with the car guys getting the 60%.

No BS Neil bring that freshly beautfied Stage I super Ekly with the 50,000 hours in it so us little people can see it and test drive it on the mach 4 run way.

I got the room reserved. As it gets closer any of us going up from the south should try and work out running together.

Tyler , Naturally we would especially like to have as many El Caminos as possible but it is totally your choice on what you bring. Remember they don`t have to be a show car. I've never been to a show before or anything. What all is entailed? I live just over in Orlando so it's not a far drive at all. My 78 is not show quality at all, I know you said it doesn't have to be, but it's a daily driver and has been for 30 years. Is it worth it to still bring it? It's not bad, and actually if you stand about 30 feet away it looks great, but when you get close you see all the little paint that is scratched, and the bed's horrible. The interior isn't too hot either. I love the El Camino but all in all it's a dd.

Give it a quick wash and vacuum and bring it on. We love em all. Hope to see you there.

Received a couple more PM inquiries about the show and hope we will get a few more to come. Not sure how many parking spaces they have but would like to suggest that early registration is best. Lenny; I hope we get 10 that would be great, parking together is always a good. I have sent mine and noted the National El Camino Owners Assoc. Guys that are going take the time to PRE-REGISTER so we can get a group area for parking.

Just heard from another member that he is trying to come and hope he posts here. He is the third daily driver and want to remind others that it is as much a El Camino get together as it is a cruise-in and show. Had several of my recent 200 PM`s come back undelivered as with the recent changes in the website, 50 stored PM`s are the limit before you need to thin them out. I did not know this and had to erase 1,051 PM`s I had sent out since joining a couple of years ago . So check your number soon . Remember to preregister as that guarantees you get in and with 10 or more that say they are with the Natl. El Camino Owners Assoc. they will park us together.

Hey Lenny, good to hear from you. Yes, I've been missing alot of shows and functions lately due to a multitude of irons that I have in the fire. The good news is that I'm making forward progress on all counts.

I emptied my pm box two days ago. I should be good to go with the pms. I spoke / text El Dawgg a few days ago. He's doing okay. He was having computer issues last I heard but he's okay.

I contacted www.FlaCarShows.com (http://www.FlaCarShows.com) director and he said three NECOA members have prerigestered as of yesterday. I had emailed him about club parking. They are asking clubs to meet up somewhere outside and drive in together to make the parking easier for his staff. I explained that we are coming from many different directions and times making that difficult . He was nice enough to say that regardless of when we arrive , they will make an exception for us and make every attempt to park us together. Those that prerigester will be parked together. Remember as Skinyfisher mentioned , that last year was the first year for the show and they had over 200 vehicles parked around the smaller lake at the Ramada Inn and I have seen several of their ads posted around including Mike Kelly`s Cruise News . I highly suggest you preregister to guarantee you get in . The Southeast Rod Club is featured and I would assume they will have a good turnout. I received my preregistration card a few days ago in the mail. Remember that it is as much a get together for us Elky fans as it is a car show . Daily drivers are welcomed and encouraged to join in .

I f found another bit of info on last years show and they expected 200 but due to rain they only had 100 and many canceled rooms due to weather. So make reservation and register guys as we know the weather changes every 15 min in Florida. The room can be canceled with 24 hours notice and the $15 reg is not much of a risk. :dontknow::beer:

Need 2 more solid pre-registered Elky's and that gives us 10 and gets into the most club cars race for the money and the trophy for most club entries (bragging rights). They said that signs were not only permitted but encouraged as guite a few spectators attending the show are in the market for a car. He said it is a laid back event . Lenny, ericksonfl, there is a parking area at the Jupiter/Indiantown entrance to the turnpike. I95 and the turnpike are only about 1/4 mile apart and that entrance/exit is only 3 or 4 miles north of northlake. That would make a convenient meeting place for which ever main thoroughfare everyone is traveling on.
Let me know a time and I will be there.

Neil , Looking on the map , is the Jupiter / Indiantown parking area you are talking about where exit 87 is on I 95 ? I will be coming on I 95 . I would like to get into Cocoa around 1 or 2 p.m. if possoble if that works for you and EricksonFl. . It is what , about 150 miles from there to Cocoa ? Lenny if you get off I-95 at exit 87 - Highway 706 (Jupiter/Indiantown) and go west you will go over the turnpike immediately and the parking area is right there on the right as you turn into get on the TP. This way we can travel which ever one we decide on. Exit # for TP is 91.

From Jupiter to Cocoa is 120 Miles so it will take us a couple of hours, unless we stop for a long lunch somewhere. 10:30 - 11:00 should work.

Neil , This sounds good . I will meet up with you and EricksonFl there . I `ve received numerous responses to the emails I`ve been sending out . A number have said they will try to come to look and get ideas for a project they have going or hope to purchase an Elky . Those that have asked or are reading this forum there will hopefully be a variety there to look at , several of which I have never seen . It is great to see that there will be several daily drivers like Carretera and Jax81 there and we hope that it will encourage others to come to our get togethers . It is as much a get together as it is a car show for us .

If you need directions to the get together , the address of the Ramada Inn is 900 Friday Road in Cocoa . Their phone # is 321-631-1210 . Remember if you are staying there overnight mention the code Winterfest to get the rate of $ 64.99 . The hotel site has directions and you can do a Mapquest search. Friday Road is just west of where I 95 and SR 524 cross at exit 202 . The Ramada desk clerk says that I 95 is almost in their backyard . Weather forecast calls for Fri. mostly sunny with a high near 68 degrees with a n.w. wind 10 to 15 mph . Fri. night is clear with overnight low around 48 degrees . Sorry you can't make it, I know you've been busting to get your ride ready I've been doing the same. Yesterday I cut out the rust spots on the floor and welded new metal, today I painted it, tomorrow I'm taking it to a nephew's house to get rid of the clifford alarm, it has so many wires that it is draining my battery, I have to disconnect it every day. the sway bar has been sanded down and painted up. it's been in my living room all week just so i don't forget it - it's ready to go. bring a couple o' wrenches and we can install it in about 10 mins. you'll notice the difference going around your very 1st turn.
