You have been asking for it for a while now, so Merry Christmas!
Rob (Poltergeist) and I have been working our mittens off over the last couple of months trying to get it ready for ya’ll for the holidays.
Please hang with us as we tweak and tune the site to bring you all the neat gizmos vBulletin has to offer and while we work to bring the gallery , avatars and such back online. There is still a lot of work ahead for us get things in perfect running order so please be patient.
Getting the old site converted over to the new forum software was a huge nightmare.
I have spent the last twenty four hours working straight through without sleep to bring it online and Rob has been right there with me, well, on the other side of the country anyway.

Hope everyone enjoys the "new" site. It's still the same great El Camino Central that you all know and love. But with a brand new paint job and motor!

Robert wants to move all of the articles over to the new site. But it's going to take some time and finding the right way to integrate them into vBulletin.

Great job, guys. I used to do computer conversions for a living, and I know IT IS A LOT OF WORK!!

Wow, "Site changes" was an understatement. Initial feeling is it looks nice. I'll let you know in a month how much I like it, it'll take me that long to get accustomed to change. Still takes me 5 minutes to find each key on this keyboard.

You should be able to. But sig pictures are limited to 500x100

FYI guys we are going to be adding some mandatory fields in your UserCP under the Edit Your Details portion. Until you fill them in you will not be able to post and might have a problem with looking at threads because the board will want to fill the fields out. These are the same fields that the old board had. Just have not had time to add them here. I'm going to add them tonight when I get home but will be making them mandatory later this week. Please fill them out. Thanks.

Gallery will take quite a bit of work as it does not play well with vb, I have been able to get it to work on a test site but rather poorly. Will get back on it as soon as the main site has been thoroughly tested out.

Working on these and more. We are trying to get the site fully stable before we start adding too much. To give you an idea we had to import the database 3 times on Saturday due to problems. You guys just have to give us time. It's easier to bring a new site online (I've done an number of them) then convert a large one over to different software.

Sorry for you old timers... I know its hard with technology once you have already grasped how to work something. But I love this new platform. Its MUCH MUCH better then the old one. Thank you x2323234234 :nanawrench::You_Rock:

This seams to be and is to me a real present to all that enjoy this site. It truly brings fun, games, info and communiations to all that use it. As it progresses along and the change over advances all will get use to the site and the new ways.

As fast as things have gone I am sure most everything will be back on line, the gallery must be a real big change over with its large size. I hope that nothing was hacked so bad that it is lost, I know that I use all areas of this site for information and more.

Nope nothing is lost that I'm aware and the Gallery is fine just have to figure out which of the BFHs that Robert and I will have to use to make it work. Getting it online will probably make the board itself look like a walk in the park (and it wasn't).

I appreciate all you two have done...not just now but everything you've also done in the past as well, to make this an enjoyable site...afterall without ECC I wouldn't have a life. I do have some questions though...some people are computer illiterite whereas I consider myself to qualify as a computer moron...my questions are, just what is a BFH, is that some type of an electronic adjustmant tool or what and have you received some type of formal training in the use of one of these BFH's? Can one of these BFH's be utilized to straighten out other things...for instance...my wife's electrical brainwaves? I think she's developed a short circuit! :poke:

BFH's can not only straighten something out but they can also put a bend in something if needed and you have the proper training. :twisted:

Ok, I admit it, I've been delinquent and haven't been around much lately but when I came back...wow! Amazing! Fantastic! You guys did a super job! I'm floored and excited and can't wait to be done work to explore everything all over again.
