As I write this, there are currently 12,735 registered users on this site. Quick math tells me that is an average of well over 200 elky's per state, with some left over for our friends across both ponds. That, my friends, is pretty sweet.
I know that not all elky owners are registered on this site. That's dedication. Well done, folks! I wonder what numbers the other communities can boast....
Just a little late night trivia while I have been checking out this awesome new site.

I see a LOT of el caminos around town, and AFAIK there are only 2 members in Albany, me and the PO of my car.

I have been told that the method of determining remaining vehicles is:
10 yrs --- 90% left
20 yrs --- 70% left
30 yrs --- 50% left
40 yrs --- 40% left
50 yrs --- 30% left
60 yrs --- 25% left
70 yrs --- 20% left
Special and cool cars have a higher #. Ugly and crappy cars a lower #. My car is a '73, 55,000 made that year, 35 yrs old equals 55,000 x .45 = 25,000 sill around. 10% junkers, 10% broken. Probably 20k in running condition / 50 states = 400 per state.

Good bit of data/trivia....
I agree. There are a lot more driving around than I imagine are registered here. I have seen quite a few here in Newport.
So if 55K were made in '73, how many were made from 59-87? I imagine about 40% would be a safe questimate of remaining vehicles on the road. That sounds like a lot of EC's. Interesting tidbit of information.
