Yes folks, time for the almost annual trip to the USA. Leaving on Sunday for 4 weeks of meeting up with an ECC member, friends and a bit of road-tripping, so I will be off-line for a while.

Looking forward to catching up with a friends in South East Alabama, SanDiego, Charleston and Phoenix. We also have my wife's friends to see in Washington DC.

We are doing some cross country flights but lots of driving too in Hertz rental cars. Pity the C7 Corvette is not out yet as I have seen the C4, C5 & C6 production lines and Nashville is only just over 1 hour away from Bowling Green.

Washington will be cold as buggery but hoping the Southern states will be warm.

I'll be looking out for El Caminos on the road. Last year we only counted about 12 in total.

Take it easy all.

I would guess you would go through "Atlanta" to get from LA (lower Alabama) to Charleston. About two hours south of me. If you get further north, give me a shout.

Thanks Jim, actually we are picking up a rental and heading North to Nashville via Scottsboro AL and Lynchburg TN. We have three nights in Nashville so there might be a possibility.

Thanks for the other best wishes from members. I hope you turn the heat up or am I just crazy to do this during Winter?:???:

It has been very warm here in San Diego if you haven't heard yet. High 80 and 90 this week. Have fun

We will be down in Tijuana Sunday and San Diego Monday so I hope the weather holds up.

It's great, we depart Melbourne OZ at 12:30pm Sunday and arrive in LA at 7:30am the same day. Time travel :infinity:

Have a great trip John. You still might be able to log on here if you can get on a friend's or relative's computer for a few minutes. We want to hear about your progress and experiences.

John,

Welcome back to the land of the Yanks. I guess it's ok to say that even though I live in the South. I hope you're avoiding DC this weekend and into next week. The inaugeration will make getting around and lodging difficult.

Have a great vacation. If you're in the Richmond area, about 100 miles south of DC, let me know. Perhaps we could get together for coffee.

What a shame you can't do this trip at the end of June and visit Carlisle for the 50th Anniversary.

Thanks for the warnings. We have braved Nogales and Juarez and got out with no trouble. We know to get out before the sun goes down.

I am taking the laptop with me but will not get much air time but I will do my best to drop in from time to time. Pity the time of year does not enable us to get up into your region Doug.

We are Alexandria (DC) the last couple of days of January so we will miss the hoopla. Unfortunately just two nights there to catch up with one of Paula's friends and see the new baby, so no chance getting down to Richmond this time Jim.

You never know, I showed my wife your comments and she said let's go then too. I better get out to water & fertilise that Money Tree.

John,

By coming in June, you're a safe bet for having travelled the furthest. Too bad your Elky probably wouldn't make the trip.
