For some reason there never is a big show turn out. A lot of times seems like they have the show when there is something bigger happening. I think that hurts the attendance.

I was there last year on Saturday. I was a little dissapointed with the show and midway. I heard there were more cars in the show on Sunday. I may try and do a Sunday trip this year and see if the turn out is any better.

Florida has had 2 to 3 stops for years last year all were canceled than with two or three months notice they put Gainesville back in and it was a bust. The events for years were an absolute for many with 2 to 3 hundred or more cars than about 4 years ago the car count begain to drop. Reason from the car guys and I asked a lot of guys, answer $45 for two days no split fee for Sat. or Sun. So if your not a 1,2,3 top car you just paid $45.00 to park even with the drags included this was a big reason (many retired and fixed income people can't afford). Second reason, I like to be recognized and there is no top 30, 50 are even a mugg for the show field. I asked the head judge and owner of Super Chevy there answer was can't split the entry fee due to the drag racing? Want only the best cars so no top group momentos for show up. The third reason for Florida was no paying butts in the GRAND stands to watch and thats the biggest reason plus a declain in the race cars. All of this adds up to we don't care and the economy droping this last few years. One other thing here in FLorida is we have to many shows every weekend due to our weather so the cars have been split up many times in the last years I have seen as many as 4 good shows on the same days as SC show. Oh well the hobby goes on and only the none flexable lose

I will be taking mine to "Moroso" (forget the new name) in March, the way I understand it the entrance fee gets your car in the show.

Entertaining the car enthusist have alwas been a problem for show promotors because they don't focus on the fact that many come from afar to gather and they need to be taken care of. That is why we at are going to great expense to make sure that the 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway on Oct 31-Nov 1, 2009 is going to be memorable. 5 bands will play throughout the day leading up to the main concert featuring a major rock band with close ties to the hot rod world. Picture 2 rows of vehicles on the drag strip in front of the grand stands. Then throw in all-day, Open-Header cruising along the frontage road, and leave room for 65 acres of secured parking and overnight camping. I think you will enjoy the weekend and consider this event the one to be at. RRL
