I can't believe I'm looking for help on removing an ashtray, not the metal insert but the plastic piece that holds it and rotates up and down. I must be losing it. I've got a "sweep" dash if it makes any difference.

I think that you open and you just pull it towards you. That's how we emptied them when I smoked.

You have to release the spring clip at the back of it. Mine won't because there is a penny stuck under it. Know where I can find the ashtray it's self? Mine's missing.
