Aloha all,
Finally got my 85 Elco back together and on the road. This caris definetely different from my VW Bugs, hel-lava lot heavy parts. Everything in the front end is new with the exception of the springs and steering box. Well worth the time and money.
Anyone who has just purchased a ELCO and not sure what kind of abuse it has taken, trust me, invest in a new front end as if you have the same parts since the day it rolled off the show room floor, it is just a matter of time before you have a serious issues with steering.
Thanks to all that gave me instruction on what to do, really appreciate it. However, I think someone mentioned a few beers while you work would help and I thought that was a joke.....joke on me I guess, when the job took a lot longer than I thought and by the time I was done (3 weeks later) I was REALLY THIRSTY!
Now the next thing on deck is body and choosing a paint. Will post pics of that adventure:nanawrench:
Have a great night and Aloha
