i've just recieved my aftermarket steering wheel and i'm ready to install, my question is what is the trick for removing the old one. i've removed the horn pad and the large center nut, i was hoping the old one would just pop off no such luck, all help will be appreciated , this is on my 1980 elky
Go to your local Autozone and rent a steering wheel puller. You put a deposit down, but get it back when you return the tool.

Hey Ken, just go to the auto parts store and buy a puller. It will be something you don't use all the time but it's handy to have when you need it. The steering wheels are kind of pressed onto the steering shaft so a puller will be needed. What kind of wheel did you get?

Yea, the puller is the best way to go. Putting a aftermarket wheel on is not hard at all to do.

I hope it's not to late to tell you to disconnect the battery before you pull the steering wheel.
