Go for it post and see how many Elkys will make that trip.
If you live in the Keys I hope your coming up to Cocoa for the Winterfest Show Feb 20 & 21. Read the Post and Pre-Register I think we will have 10 to 12 Elkys in NECOA club parking (maybe more?). The show its self could be 150 200.

I am still debating Coco, could only make it Saturday though. I Herculined the bed Saturday and this coming weekend the car is being wet sanded and buffed, the interior is far from finished but drivebable.
We also have Super Chevy coming up in March at old Moroso in West Palm Bch. I am definetely going there.
It would be great to get together to plan future meets, is there a Florida Chapter?

We did a meet at Moroso in Oct of 2007 at the Super Chevy Show I think the elky field had 16 and that is a good turn out for Elky's. 12 or 13 were NECOA cars.

El Caminos In Paradise sounds good to me . Sign me up !! I am in the Key West area and would love to attend something like this in the Keys and not have to go so far for a get together , although I do love road trips . Don`t be discouraged that you are new but to be honest I guess you know it does take a lot of calls, emailing, meetings, contacts , $ etc. to do something like this . If you can get the Monroe County Tourist Developement Council to provide some $ , their process is time consuming and they expect " heads in beds " , for their sponsorship . If a business like Holiday Isle or the Chamber of Commerce signs on it is much easier . Basically, we are all individual members of NECOA that love our Elkys and take it upon ourselves to try and meet up . We have chosen to go to Gainesville ( twice ), Kissimmee ( several times ) , Eustis, Bradenton, Cocoa and Palm Beach partially in the hope that it will be close enough for owners to attend something in their area. We have piggybacked our get togethers at various shows as we do not have the resourses, time or facility to pull it off by ourselves . It is also good in that we do not have to drive a long way to just stand around a parking lot and can look at E.C. and other vehicles , check out vendors, food, music and some even have drag racing going on . Like this upcoming Winterfest and Super Chevy Shows we kick it around online to see who can come and the show promotors do all the rest . Getting the word out to Elky owners is difficult as many do not know about us and advertizing takes $ . Also for this Winterfest Show I have gone through our member list , all region 6 forums, Fl. Craigslist , Fl. Auto Trader inviting E.C. owners to join us . If we get 20 we will be real happy . Since they were related, how about doing a dual Monte Carlo and El Camino get together . The Monte Carlo clubs have sizable numbers and a number have both Montes and El Caminos . Our E.C. have not been produced in the numbers that Corvettes etc. have and it seems hard to get E.C. owners to drive any great distance . Certainly , by reading the various posts there are some hardy souls willing to hit the highway and have some fun . I hope none of this scares you away and it can be done . Like Skinyfisher said put it out there and see how many respond , although NECOA is only a portion of E.C. owners out there . Are you aware of the Key Largo Car Club that meets one Sat. a month at Arby`s in the Key Largo area ? I will PM you my phone # if you want to call. Thank you for trying to provide an event for us and hope it will happen .

Lenny,
Thanks for your information and support. I'm going to see a friend on Feb.14, That might be able to sponsor a big part of the event. If i'm able to get his support, Then I'll follow up with your suggestion to go to The Monroe County Tourist Development Council. I also like your suggestion to add the Monte Carlo. I have been to the Arby's Key Largo Car Club several times and really enjoyed it. Also attended the Ocean Reef Vintage Weekend Show. They had Auto's,yacht's,and Airplanes. Some really nice Classics. I'm going to post some of my photos taken there. I live in Key Largo but, I own a hardware business in Miami and have to drive to work daily. (175 miles, apprx. 3 hrs.roundtrip.)I usually get home late and it might take me some time to get some things done. I was thinking to schedule date around the time of The Nascar Races in Homestead. Maybe we can draw some of that crowd. Anaway, I really appreciate your interest and support. I'll PM my phone # and keep you in formed. Also want to Thank all other support and suggestions from all.
