To all our friends here at El Camino Central,

NECOA is putting it's full backing behind the El Camino 50th
Anniversary celebration kickoff at Carlisle, PA June 26-28, 2009.

Unlike most car clubs NECOA charges no dues or fees of any kind.
Because of this there are no funds available to help us organize and
pay for many of the items and events that will make this celebration a
success. We need money to pay for a banner, a tent, for trophies and
other awards to be awarded at our Saturday night banquet, items for
goody bags, etc.

So this is where you all come in, we are asking for donations to help
NECOA in this endeavor. We need to raise $1000. If you click on the
link provided you can donate $5.00, $10.00, $25.00, or more if you
wish. Anyone donating $100 or more will receive a free lifetime
membership in the Asphalt Devils Car Club, a $50 value. With all the
savings from our various sponsors you will earn that $100 back very
quickly!
In addition you will also be recognized as a 50th Anniversary contributor
here on El Camino Central with a special rank signifiying you as a contributor
to this historic event.

In the event that we don't use the full amount collected the balance
will go towards helping NECOA and ECC maintain the server and web site
we all use every day.

LeoZ2 has a good point. In order to put on a show, funds are needed to cover expenses. The 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway on Oct 31-Nov 1, 2009 is a national big-budget project complete with celeberty appearances. it is important that all of our Elko owners register and patronize the shows in your area. Remember, all eyes will be looking to us to end the '50s era.

Even though there's no chance I'll get to any of these events I threw a few bucks at this. It's worth it to help elevate our chosen obsession to another level of respect.

Even 5 bucks can help so if you can do it it's worth it. Besides, the way I look at it, it's participating in something historic.

Please note for those of you who are hesitating due to PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account to donate. You just enter your credit card info like any other purchase and you're done, you don't need to register on PayPal.

it's also perfectly safe, we never see your credit card numbers or info, we only are informed of the donation and the amount is deposited in the NECOA account. No credit info is ever passed on to us so it's very safe. In fact, much safer than giving your card to a waiter or store clerk who can easily steal your info.
