: Daytona 500 Pace Car
67elkybryan 02-10-2009, 10:18 AM I didn't think it was possiable. But they took what was an ugly car to start with and made it even uglier. :barf:

EriksonFL 02-10-2009, 11:38 AM Wow thats sweet. Joking!
I have never liked any pace car scheme except the 78 corvette.
I guess you know why. LOL
rushgator 02-10-2009, 03:22 PM Well, I for one like the new Camaro (not as much as the original it's modeled after, mind you), but the pace car paint is a little hard on the eyes. GM has a history of goofy pace car editions. At least the wheels are normal color. Remember the blue wheels on the Trans Am or the yellow wheels on the C5 pace car? Yikes!
Carretera 02-10-2009, 03:56 PM Paint is not bad on that car but where is the Camaro you guys are talking about?
CANTED 02-10-2009, 04:04 PM Different strokes for different folks. I like the car Bryan, the pace car scheme does not do that much for me, but I think the car is a step forward in GM styling. I suppose you do not like the new Challenger either. It's all about, what will sell, and I think this car will sell. As far as being ugly, I just don't see it. Most cars sold by AMC, I would label ugly. The exception being the AMX, which was a bad little car. PS how did you get Amanda on your buddies at Hub Garage?
Botomgun 02-10-2009, 04:53 PM I don't care what brings those cars to the green flag! It's time for some racin'!

Different strokes in deed. I just think the new Camaro is butt ugly. Do I think it will sell.....most likely. But I don't see myself ever buying one.
As for the new Challenger. Love it...well as much as you can love a car. But than it looks a lot like my 71 Challenger. The new Camaro to me doesn't look even close to any of the past Camaros. The Challenger is probably the only new domestic car I would consider buying. In fact it is on my short list when I go looking for a new car this summer.
For the most part I would agree with you on the AMC's. But I sure wouldn't turn down a Rebel Machine is I came across one for sale at a some what decent price.
As for Amanda at Hub Garage.....It must just be my handsome develish good looks  Wait....she's never seen me so I guess that's not it. :dontknow: I think she asked me to be buddies.
mgs72elky 02-10-2009, 08:53 PM Aw come on Jim, admit you liked AMC Pacer too. Agree, think the new Challenger is even sharper though.
elcamino74guy 02-10-2009, 10:01 PM I plan on getting a 2011 or 2012 model myself. I like the new styling and think GM is finally getting a clue by bringing bad RWD cars. Those photos also make it look like a fat brick which it isn't. Bad camera angles probably from a cell phone.
:smileyb:
Steve81OR 02-11-2009, 12:37 AM I don't like everything about the car, but overall I like it. It's been long enough since the Big 3 made a car with some distinction. Lately you can't tell a Toyota Camry from a Pontiac GTO. I like that they are starting to bring back the older styling with a new look. I agree, the Challenger looks better, but I think within a few years the Camero get more of it's original looks back.
elcamino74guy 02-11-2009, 05:32 AM I actually prefer the second generation Camaro/Firebird body style (70-81)
Still I like the looks of this car and bought my 08 'stang because it was the
closest thing I could get to it at the time. I like the Challenger a lot too I just
don't trust Chrysler products.
That's a personal thing though and there's way
too many minvans and RAM pickups with 5 point logos running around to say that's a common opinion.:nanawrench:
theelcaminofactory 02-11-2009, 08:14 AM Paint scheme is fugly!:barf:
CANTED 02-12-2009, 06:50 PM This one wins the prize.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Make it stop! Make it stop!
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I really didn't thank the Camaro is butt ugly. I kinda like the fuller body style it appears to have over a UGO or a Smart Car. Those two are butt ugly to me. As far as the colors and choices of body wrap or graphic design, that is pretty much up to the guys flipping the big bucks for the car. If you want to pay big bucks and hand you car unvealed to the general public looking like s**t, thats your bussiness and your money. Anytime somebody puts their name on the side of a car it's gonna costs bigg bucks.
JJLT1 02-15-2009, 09:19 AM i like the layed back windshield and the choped top look, but i havent see good picture yet.
szonk 02-15-2009, 11:01 AM While the Challenger is a cleaner re-design, the new Camaro is growing on me, sans the pace car paint. I'll take mine in black, thank you
I think Tom Cruise liked driving the pace car...
74elco 02-16-2009, 12:40 PM I like the new camaro myself. The Pace car makes me wanna:buttkick: someone. Why do they have the crappiest paint on the pace cars? and who designs them so I can smack him.
elcamino74guy 02-17-2009, 02:46 PM At least they didn't go back to the old Baskin Robbins White with orange stripes paint scheme that they put on the 69 Indy 500 pace car...
