Anyone else interested in dyno testing as a group while at the Carlisle event. I haven't checked what the "special" group rates might be, but I will if there appears to be enough interest. See below. THANKS.....Ken

Axcelerated Motorsports: The Carlisle Dyno Guy!
Dyno Dale was at Carlisle All-GM Nationals!

Dyno Dale will be here and will be very, very busy throughout the weekend. Axcelerated Motorsports is the official Dyno of Carlisle Events and frequents all Carlisle Car and Truck shows throughout the season. Axcelerated provides mobile Dyno tuning for cars and trucks using their Dynojet 248 chassis dynamometer. Next time you’re here, find out how much horsepower your car or truck really has! Their wide band O2 monitoring will determine if all that precious fuel is making power or just being wasted out the tailpipes.

Attention Clubs! Coming early or staying late? Club rates may apply for off peak hours at the events. A minimum number of cars may be required. Availability varies by event. For more information, please contact the Carlisle Dyno Guy at 215.297.8139 or dale@axceleratedmotorsports.com (dale@axceleratedmotorsports.com)

I'd say go ahead and check the group price and get all the details (minimum group size, etc.) Post the info here and this way we can all decide.

Axcelerated Motorsports will be at the 50th Anniversary show for only one day - Saturday. He suggests that Saturday morning would be the best time to plan for the group's testing. The per car rate would be $70.00 per car - for 5 to 10 cars - that's ten dollars off the regular rate. Please let me know who would be interested, so that we could have a better bargaining position with more cars to be tested. Or, if someone of our group knows Dale Homnick personally, maybe they could get a better rate?.............................. THANKS, Ken Rogers

Sorry I did not get a chance to go to them since I have class and I still need to do final touches on my EL Camino to make it perfect.
Once I go I will get right back to all of you to tell you what I found out for us.

I'd be interested for sure, group rate or otherwise. But along these lines I have a few technical questions:

Any special preps necessary? Will they install the O2 bung and plug in my header collector(s)?

I have a TH700 with a 3.55 rear gears. WOT in 4th gear would be like 300 MPH (just kidding), but likely WAY over the speed rating of my M/T ET Streets, plus I don't think the driveshaft's balanced any more. Can HP ratings be determined if I leave the tranny in 3rd?

Thanks.

Kenrogers1:

I would like to know if on the 1981 3.8L/231 engine I have self adjusting valves or do I need to adjust them at so many miles?.:texas:

Angrystone, you may want to direct that question to someone who is more familiar with your engine. I would think that, like most all other GM engines, your valves are adjusted when installed, and should not be readjusted again unless there is a problem that would require it. However, I've never dealt with your V6 engine - there are others here who have and who you will find to be a tremendous resource...........Ken

If we can get a list of those who definitely want their cars dyno tested while at Carlisle, I'll try to get a time for us to be there on Saturday morning. Please respond within the next week or so - the time slots may be disappearing fast.........Ken
