Got a quick look at a interesting El Camino coming the other direction on the road home from work today. It looked like about a 1982 El Camino with a 82 Camaro front clip! Don't know all that much about 5th gen. Elkys. Is that modification possible? Looked pretty cool, maybe I'll see it again and get a better look. 8)

:) Yeah! Thats it! That one is much nicer than the one I saw! But the same basic car! First thing I did after getting home was check the members rides, but there were so many of them I didn't know where to look in the 5th gen, thanks for finding it for me!

Hey Terry -- that Camaro IROC style front clip is so simple, even I was able to do it! Everything is a straight bolt-on, with only minor tweaking and sanding required. My fiberglass unit was built by Crystalite Engineering in So. Cal in the late 1980's. Those molds were taken over by Lauren Engineering who now sells them and the front end costs about $1400 or so, plus painting. The rear bumper and lights are another $600. and the ground effects are about $250. The people at Lauren are very helpful, especially Dave Monk, the president. You can see their on-line catalogue at

I have the IROC or Stage II setup complete for my 5th Generation. The "Choo Choo-ish front clip" (80 model) They also have interior stuff and other goodies for that year range (78 - 87)

66? 8O Lauren makes some neat stuff, even a Lumina front fascia, but I'm pretty sure that they don't make a 66 Camaro front fascia, in fact I'm positive. :)

Right! Camaros weren't even built in 1966! First year was 1967! Maybe he means put his 81 Camaro nose on a 66 El Camino! :P
